The UK economy faces an unprecedented task reducing net carbon emissions to zero by 2050. While the legislative framework is now in place, there is a lack of detail and urgency about how net zero will be delivered. Onward is an independent, not-for-profit thinktank that is gathering thoughts on how businesses big and small can help reach net zero, be that through their own actions, or ideas that they may have. Onward's Getting to zero programme looks to focus the debate on how to meet the net zero target, as well as some of the practical and political challenges ahead.
Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon, is asking for the views of local businesses, trade associations and individuals. This call for information seeks evidence from practitioners and experts on the biggest challenges we need to overcome, and the biggest opportunities we must grasp, to deliver net zero by 2050. The deadline for this submission is 8th February 2021.
Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon said:
“I know that there are some amazing businesses in North Devon doing some incredible and innovative things, this is an opportunity to feed in your thoughts, concerns and ideas for how your industry can, or indeed already does contribute to getting us to net zero quicker”
