The 18th of March marked the beginning of English Tourism Week 2022!
Before the pandemic, English tourism generated over £100 billion a year and supported 2.6 million jobs. With the removal of restrictions, this year we can help rebuild the tourism industry for the future.
Here in North Devon, tourism is a vital part of our economy. We are blessed with some of the best beaches in the country - if not the world - and exquisite wide open spaces in Exmoor and the surrounding countryside.
I have always been keen to support our tourism businesses and visitor attractions, and have met with hundreds of local business owners since being elected as MP for North Devon – just some pictured here.
This English Tourism Week, I encourage everyone to think about how they can help support tourism at home.
