"It is very disappointing to see that no floating or fixed offshore wind has been supported through the AR5 auction. The Industry has been concerned for some time that the administrative strike prices have not kept pace with the global economic conditions.
Those fears have now been realised and the huge opportunities in the Celtic Sea and North Sea will not be realised as quickly as we had all hoped.
I will be working with Industry and Government to find a way forward that gets our offshore wind back on track. I hope the Government will engage with industry to understand their concerns and respond quickly ahead of AR6."
