Election Result Statement – Selaine Saxby MP for North Devon
I’d like to thank the residents of North Devon for showing their overwhelming faith in me to be their MP. I will be North Devon’s Voice in Westminster, I will as I have promised, help deliver Brexit, deliver on spending commitments for our Link Road and our new Hospital. I will ensure that North Devon and the Westcountry get the investment it deserves. Increases in education spending, infrastructure spending, spending on the NHS and support for all our businesses, big and small, from farming and tourism to IT Tech and manufacturing.
I have been so lucky over the last few weeks to be able to speak to many of you and visit many of your local pubs and attend some of the many Christmas events that have been held. I truly believe in community and what it can do, I will do all I can to support you. I will work with local councils and groups to support you so that you can support yourselves.
I know that many of you have voted Conservative for the first time, it has been an election of firsts and I am delighted to be the first female MP to represent North Devon. With this huge mandate, having received the highest percentage of vote share in the history of General Elections in North Devon, you may think that I would be complacent. Absolutely not. I am determined to justify your faith in me and will work hard to deliver for North Devon.
