Selaine Saxby MP ran her annual Christmas Card Competition with entries from across North Devon and chose the winning festive reindeer design from Ilfracombe Infant and Nursery School.
The competition has sparked creativity and festive spirit, with entries coming in from primary school children all over North Devon. After going through the submissions Selaine selected Eva Elsie Joyce Brown’s reindeer design, Eva is five years old from Ilfracombe Infant and Nursery School. Selaine met with Eva at school this week to present her with the winning prize, a House of Commons teddy bear and a photo of the Prime Minister and Selaine with Eva’s winning design.
Oliver Canty from South Molton Community Primary School came second and Esmae Gatting from Goodleigh Church of England Primary School came third in the annual Christmas card competition. Selaine also managed to meet with Esmae this week at her class dress rehearsal in Goodleigh Village Hall and very much enjoyed hearing one of the excellent musical numbers.
Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon said:
“I would like to say a big thank you to all the young students who sent in so many great designs for my annual Christmas card competition. I will be sending out the winning card to many residents in North Devon and colleagues in the House of Commons across the festive season. I would like to congratulate Eva for coming up with the winning design, it was lovely to share her reindeer card with the Prime Minister.
“A big congratulations also goes to Oliver and Esmae for their Christmas wreath and hedgehog designs. Seeing all the wonderful cards certainly got me into a festive mood, thank you to all the schools for sending in the cards to my office and helping the students with their designs. What a wonderful way to start off the festive period!”
